An Example of E-TES on site at one of our restorations. On this loss the supply hose to the dishwasher started to leak when the homeowner was away. Upon her return, the sub-floor beneath the Tile & Grout floor in the kitchen, the wall between the laundry room and stairwell going downstairs, and the basement floor was affected.

At first glance, easy enough, however, behind the drywall on the finished side of the stairwell is the main support for the house that consists of three 2x10 pieces of lumber that have absorbed water; if left untreated the wood could rot and undermine the structural integrity of the entire house.

What to do?

Option One: Demo the wall and dry the structure. Adding three to five days to allow the wood to dry and another two to three days to rebuild and finish the wall (if all goes well) and about $1100.00 in costs. Dry the subfloor separately, by venting a dehumidifier into cocoon made of plastic sheeting, costing another 230.00 in rental costs plus labor.

Option Two: Dry the structure in place using E-TES. In actuality it took four days to the job of drying the soaked pieces of lumber, all of the subfloor dried as a byproduct in one day at no additional cost! Costing only $920.00 + labor.

In this particular restoration, not only did using the E-TES unit save over $400.00, but the homeowner was spared the trauma of having their walls cut open and the adjuster was saved the hassles of dealing with the rebuild on top of the dry down.

While our original time period for filtering was 300 hours and every 1000 hours thereafter, we are finding that more frequent filtering may be required on most units.

If you already own an AT84 filter kit, it is easy to put the filter inline after a job is completed, once the system has cooled, but before you pick up the equipment. This way filtering after every job or every other job they can easily keep your unit operating properly.
